... It was then that I knew that the food service industry was not just a job. It was and is a way of life for these people and I knew that it would be for me. I have held numerous jobs in many restaurants around Louisiana. After my tour in the United States Army, I really began my life in the food-service industry. I had been away from it so long and when I was honorably discharged from Uncle Sam I fell in love with the food service industry all over again. However, it took me a while to realize it. The need and want of acceptance by my father drowned my visions of what I really wanted to do with my life. I was not doing the one thing that I was passionate about because my father wanted a son who was a college graduate.
Therefore, I attended Southeastern Louisiana University for one of my other loves, Architecture. I was in that for a couple semesters and realized that was not for me. I then switched my major to computer science. I figured that it would be lucrative and I was and am still amazed by what computers can do. I realized that this was not for me either. I finally settled on a major in marketing. I figured that was a very versatile degree and it could be applied to just about any business, but again I was just settling. It was not something that I loved and had a passion for. It was not in me. It was not my way of life. ...
