... This report will focus on a Public Relations debate/campaign for promoting a themed night. The themed night we have decided for our debate/campaign is an Oscar’s night event, the profits of this event will be donated to a childrens charity called ‘promise dreams’. The following paragraphs will outline the planning and the decision making of the event. The report will explain the importance of communication and planning within public relations. Target audience and media selection is an important part of the report therfore there will be a lot of emphasis on our choosen target audience and media selection. “A business is more likely to succeed if it is trusted. In public relations credibillity is vital. Not only must it be believable but it must be true.” (Jefkins and Yadin, 1998 p.129) This quote outlines the importance of applying ethics to our debate/campaign; this is why the report will critically evaluate ethics within our debate/campaign. Reccomenadtions for both groups will be given but most importantly every point will be justified and synthesized with concepts and theories.
1.1 Aim This piece of literature aims to: • Provide an in depth reflective assessment of the debate/campaign 1.2 Objectives • To discuss choosen slides fom the campaign presentation • To relate and synthesize our campaign to concepts and theories • To critically evaluate our campaign • To give recommendations
2.0 Communication “Communication is defined as the process which occurs when ideas, information and feelings are conveyed from individual to individual or group to group. So communication is about transmitting and receiving ideas, facts or feelings.” (Baguley, 1994 p.9) “Often organistaion do not have a formal, written communication plan that clearly outlines. ‘Where they’re going’ in terms of communication strategy. An integrated communication plan will be tied to the organistions overall, mission, vision, values and objectives and will clearly support these objectives with communication with a variety of critical audience. (Society for Human Resource Management, 2006 P.44) Communication within our debate/campaign book will be a key step by step factor in order to be successful with public relation principles and the Oscar’s night event. ...
