Research shows that events industries in the UK is set to grow significantly due to integrating within marketing programmes, this research comes from JMA Research in a survey for Wyndham-Leigh a event marketing specialist. The results measured 200 marketers with a joint budget for events of around £90 million and proves that46% of those polled expect a greater part in their communication strategies to come from events (marketingservicestalk, 2008).
One of the factors to the growth of the industry is disposable income and the amount of it available to people who wish to pander to such events. People want to attend events and so they spend their disposable income which comes from left over expenditure from bills and other household essentials. However, in today’s economic climate disposable income might be a sparse thing with recession on its way and the credit crunch booming, this could affect the growth therefore maybe disposable income might not be a valid reason for the growth which is obviously present. Furthermore, could this mean that predictions that the events industry is or will grow false?
To continue from that, public interest is a vital part in the continuing growth in this country and around the world of the events industry. This helps bring people to the event and once they have supplemented it once, in other words been to that event in question they will want to go to further events of the same calibre.
