However, the abuse of marijuana, as scientist have learned, when smoked causes different chemical reaction in the human body. These chemical reactions affect the brain, heart and lungs. There is what are called cannabinoid receptors in the brain. This section of the brain is responsible for memory, thoughts, concentration, sensory and time perception and coordinated movement. Smoking marijuana, THC is released into the blood that goes to brain. This chemical reduces the effectiveness of these receptors. Therefore the effectiveness of or concentration, coordinated movement and etc are reduced causing simple task like driving to be ineffectively completed.
