I plan to find it out by using five different concentrations of hydrochloric acid (diluted by adding water), to react with magnesium. I will take the results of the experiment with all the different concentrations of acid and I will then compare the results to see how concentration affects rate. The equation of this experiment is:
Magnesium (Mg) + Hydrochloric acid (2HCl) = Hydrogen (H2) + Magnesium chloride (MgCl2)

I have decided to do it in this way because it gives many results for each concentration. The other methods only give one so there is a greater chance for error. I chose to measure the product being made instead of the reaction being used up because there will be more results so it will make for a better test. This is because we can draw more tables and graphs so it looks better as well as providing more data for if we wanted to further investigate it in future experiments where you may change another factor other than concentration by first seeing the best concentration to use from this experiment.
