... 2 Like in many other countries where there is no censor of TV and Radio, the common factor is these countries are free, vibrant and democratic countries. Those countries where there is an embargo /censure of media like TV the societies are repressed. Like we see in Burma the TV and radio is totally controlled by the Government. The people are not allowed to see the images or news of a vibrant and democratic world outside Burma less they also rise up in rebellion. In India also TV during emergency was controlled by Doordrashan with private channel still to make a beginning. Fortunately the press/print media acted as the accountability balancing factor during the emergency. In China or in many middle east countries we see, the Government banning many programs in guise of offensive language or behavior. However the fact is the programs were reminding the people of their rights and democratic culture. 3 Thus we see TV and radio play an important role in the building of a country and aspiration of its people. Pakistan is a country now where BBC/CNN/ and its own private channel is slowly making inroads of democracy in the country. It is exposing the military regime. TV and radio also played an important role in Iraq. On one hand it brought down Saddam regime by exposing its regime and lessening the world and UN support. On other hand free media and TV programs also exposed George Bush and Tony Blair false propaganda of NBC weapons held in Iraq as reasons of attacking Iraq. ...
