George and Lennie are two characters in the book who travel together and work together and have been friends for years.
This makes them different from the other migrant workers who move about all the time,never staying in one place long enough to make close friendships.

Lennie is quite dumb and likes to feel soft things.Sometimes however,he doesn’t know when to stop and this gets him into trouble.George has to get him out of trouble.
An example of this is when Lennie grabs a girl’s skirt and he doesn’t let go.Lennie doesn’t mean any harm and only holds it because it is soft.He will be charged with rape so George takes Lennie away from Soledad to work on a ranch.
